Marian Dockery & Associates LLC is committed to community and the firm gives back to the community in a number of ways. Marian is the CEO and Founder of the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys, Inc. (LIWOCA) which this year will celebrate a fourteen years of presenting annual conferences to hundreds of women attorneys from all over the United States. The conferences provide mentoring, networking and business development opportunities for the attendees and has showcased shareholders, law firm partners, general counsels and judges who have shared their expertise in a full day of panel discussions and presentations to help the attendees reach the pinnacle of their Profession.
Billye has participated annually as a panelist and spoken on numerous topics since the inception of LIWOCA. LIWOCA holds an annual scholarship luncheon and presents a student track to fuel the pipeline of talented women of color law students who are pursuing legal careers. LIWOCA also partners with the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program and Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School which host an annual Pipeline Program to teach high school students the critical skills they need to succeed in college and law school. Students visit law firms and corporate law offices and are mentored on various topics to help them succeed in school and life.
LIWOCA was the 2008 recipient of the Zenith Award for Service to the Community presented annually by the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys.
